Modernized 80s retro squash tail performance.
The latest model in Matt’s “Post Modern Retro” collec- tion, the Rad Ripper draws its inspiration from 80s per- formance shortboards and is scaled for small, to medium everyday surfing. Super-fast, forgiving, user friendly retro fun, featuring modern updates and improvements suitable for almost anyone. Design highlights include; a fast paddling, early entry easy glide and quick starting low entry rocker. A wide plaining squash tail with lots of lift and surface area for small surf. A noticeably healthy amount of tail rocker, cut through by an aggressive dou- ble concave, adding even more lift and squirt under the rear foot. The Rad Ripper basically has an engine on the back of it and is ready for everything that puts a smile on your face from ripping through power carves, whipping through threes, gliding through extended floaters, to blasting airs and winning Stab High like Rasta Robb! Built in our lightest weight Techno-Pop construction it has a nice 80s feel and will take the beatings you give it when it becomes your favorite board.
Highlighted features include:
• Flat, stable deck, with steep, low apex, tucked soft rails.
• Slight vee in nose (to free up the low rocker) into a shallow single concave, into a deep double concave vee, for both speed and control.
• Wide, stable squash tail, glides across anything, and holds speed through turns, even in small summer slop.
• Forward thickness flow, with wedged “beak” nose, for drive and paddle-ability.

TECHNOLOGICALLY TOUGHER - ENVIRONMENTALLY NICER!
Lib Tech is dedicated to board riding and hands on high tech board building. We have spent a lifetime of surfing, shaping and working with alternative, high performance, environmentally friendly materials and constructions. Traditional surfboard construction has always felt too fragile and the build process is toxic and unhealthy for the planet and craftspeople. We know there had to be a way...
Lib Tech Futures® Compatible
Three years ago Lib Tech developed a unique “high performance” Futures® Compatible system that features set “grub” screws at both ends of the fin box. The rear screw replaces the traditional bar that anchors the trailing end of the fin. You can set the rear screw once and never adjust it and use the front screw to lock the fin in like you do with traditional Futures®. Or you can actually tighten both screws once the fin is in place and lock in both ends for an extra rigid high performance feel. (You will need to slightly loosen the trailing screw and use the front screw as you normally would to get the fin out of the box if you choose to double lock it in).
- Fits Futures® High Performance Fins
-
Double set screw replaces fixed pin
-
Operates like a traditional Futures® Box
-
Can “performance lock” fins in with both screws

Foam Dust and Off Cut Recycling
-
Lib Tech's amazing Nitrogen Cell foam contains 25-40% recycled material and they are able to recycle 100% of their offcuts and shavings back into foam. (Traditional surfboard scrap foam ends up in the landfill.) Unused blank tusks and shavings are run through the Lib Tech in-house thermo densification process and turned into high density bricks which are up-cycled back into foam!
