We take pride in every process and ingredient that goes into making each bar of Sticky Bumps surf wax so you can feel good about what you are putting on your board.
Ocean-Safe Ingredients
Our surf waxes are made from mineral waxes (non-toxic, biodegradable paraffins and microcrystalline waxes), calcium carbonate, and eco-friendly tackifiers, which include terpene (tree) resins, non-toxic scent, and non-toxic dye. All ingredients comply with TSCA/EPA/Prop 65 regulations for non-toxicity.
Biodegradable Wax
Sticky Bumps wax biodegrades over time through a process in which bacteria and fungus emulsify back into the environment.
No Waste
Every bar of Sticky Bumps is made in our zero-waste factory in California. Our core ingredients are melted with steam, then mixed, to minimize environmental impact. Every material in our production process is either reused or recycled.
Recycled Packaging
Every bar of Sticky Bumps is hand-packed with recycled materials in our no-waste factory.

The first-ever traction-additive surfboard waxes, Sticky Bumps launched a surfing breakthrough that has since evolved to cover a multitude of performance requirements and temperature conditions for top surfers - pros and amateurs alike. What makes Sticky Bumps surf wax unique? It's both our secret sauce and the process of how we make each bar of wax.
Our Ingredients
Wax: Paraffin is the base for all surf wax formulations. We add calcite, fragrance, and special secret sauce to create the highest quality waxes in the industry.
Calcite: We were the first to use calcite in surf wax. A key component of Sticky Bumps surf wax, calcite is made from decomposed seashells, fossils and other organic material.
Fragrance: The aroma of wax is important - without it, surf wax wouldn't be the same. We add fragrances like Blueberry to each bar for that famous Sticky Bumps smell everyone loves.
Our Process
Steam: Large starter blocks of paraffin waxes are melted down before mixing using steam, which minimizes environmental impact in the production cycle.
Batching: Each style of wax has a unique, temperature-specific formula of ingredients. The ingredients are combined and heated with steam kettles in large metal vats.
Chill: After proper blending, the wax is poured into the Sticky Bumps classic square-shaped molds. Then it goes into our walk-in freezer to chill before the wrapping process.
