RNF RETRO FISH: THE FISHIEST OF THE ROUND NOSED FISH
A unique full on beaked nose winged swallow speed fish with classic San Diego roots, the RNF Retro is designed to fly through in the smallest of conditions but with larger fins and proper rail work can make magic in fast overhead surf of all kinds. A stable flat deck with smooth downward rails and plenty of forward volume paddle effortlessly and glide through soft spots.
The forgiving rolled bottom up front, blends into a gentle single concave under the front foot into a double concave spiral V under the back foot and compliments the sidecut and winged swallow bringing control to the speedy wide tail for torqued arcs in the pocket and powerful open face carves. Tints, and a wonderful illustrated logo by Drew Brophy, add to the magic of your new favorite fish.
DESIGN DIRECTION INCLUDES:
• SNOWBOARD Infl uence “SideCut”, reverse curve, outline, that helps keep the rail line locked in, hold edge and gain speed in
tight wrapping arcs.
• Flat deck (for stability in small surf) with steep, fast, full rails, with downward slope and tight, soft bottom rail, for both bite
and seamless release.
• Forward volume, for drive, momentum and paddle power, accentuated and foiled, using a “beak” nose.
• Rolled bottom, up front (for forgiveness) soft single concave under front foot (for lift) and a hyper extended, double concave
spiraling vee, under the back foot and out of the wide swallow ( to control the high speeds you will easily be attaining and
translate that speed into torqued turns off the tail and rail.
• It also includes a radically wonderful illustrated logo, by Drew Brophy.
